KSBJ is Mobile - Now On Google Android

KSBJ’s Communications Team has been busy creating some new ‘stuff’ for our listeners to enjoy.

We’ve got a new Player with lots of cool features, we’ve got an iPhone App, and we’re streaming our music online again.

New Player features:

• Song Lyric Search
• Songs played in the last 24 hours
• Link to sign up for Online Music Panel
• KSBJ news (pressroom)
• Ways to listen to KSBJ on your phone (multiple platforms, not just iPhone)
• A Widget to put KSBJ in your personal blog or webpage
• A quick link to donate to KSBJ

We’re making it easier for you to stay connected from our new PLAYER:

• You can get the link to the blog of the DJ on the air
• You can link to Facebook & Twitter too
• Get a quick look at the latest features, events, and promotions on the KSBJ website
• Follow the most recent KSBJ “tweets”

Listen to KSBJ on your smart phone:
iPhone, Blackberry and other platforms
Listen to KSBJ in your car (even when you’re out of transmitter range) by streaming us on your phone and listening through your car stereo

How-to listen on your phone:

• Open your internet browser on your phone
• Go to the URL for your type of phone, and you will automatically be sent to KSBJ’s audio!
  • iPhone: Just search KSBJ in the App Store to get the KSBJ App - or browse to  http://ksbj.org/iphone to start the stream
  • Blackberry: http://ksbj.org/bb – Blackberry OS version 4.5 is required. If the stream doesn’t play, you most likely need the software upgrade. You can get this upgrade, by contacting you phone’s service provider.
  • Windows Mobile & Palm Phones: http://ksbj.org/wm
  • Android: You can listen to KSBJ on your Android ("Droid") phone! All you need is a player that can stream M3U files. 
    • We tried a few different apps (and you can use whatever app you like to listen), but Cherry Rplayer worked well for us. Just search "Cherry Rplayer" in the Market, and install it on your Android phone.
    • After you install your player, open your browser and to go to http://ksbj.org/droid to start the stream.
  • Other Phone Platforms: Please try http://ksbj.org/mp3stream

How-to listen in your car, through your phone:
You’ll need to have an “Aux” input for your iPod/iPhone, or Bluetooth built into your car stereo.

• Connect your phone to your stereo (either by the “Aux” input, or by Bluetooth)
• Then browse to the stream on your phone. You should now hear KSBJ on you car stereo!

If don’t want to mess with all of that, you can always turn your phone up nice and loud.
