'Changed My Life... '

07-10-2010| 'Amanda''Lee'

'I dont have a dramatic story like some people. I was very fortunate to grow up in a christian home. I was raised in church. Accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 13. Then I grew up and unfortunately got away from church. I dont have anything dramatic that happened. Didnt get into drugs or alcohol.. But I knew even then that I needed to be back in church and to have a relationship with Christ. Well in 2008 I moved to Houston, TX from Memphis, TN. I moved down here in June because of my job. I didnt get married until that Sept. I tried a few churches but felt uncomfortable because I was living with my fiance before marriage. Or I think thats just the excuse that I gave to not have to go to chuch. We moved to the Woodlands in June of 2009. I started watching Kerry Shook on tv in January of 2010. The Lord really started convicting me about my relationship with Him and about not going to church and having Christian fellowship. On Easter 2010, my husband and I attended Woodlands Church. The praise and worship team sang the song, "Healing Begins" by Tenth Avenue North and I had a complete God moment. I cried because of what I had been missing over the past years.. That song made me realize that I could start all over and God loved me regardless of what I had done. On the way home that Sunday, I turned to KSBJ and made the vow to myself and before God that I would no longer listen to secular music. I wanted to start anew and only listen to uplifting positive music. I LOVE KSBJ. Every day on my way to work, I hear a song that really touches me and makes me so happy that I have God in my life and His promises hold true.. No matter what, God is always there for me!!!! I pledged during shareathon to give a monthly gift. We found out last night that my husband is going to be laid off from his job. It was very upsetting news, but I know God has a plan for us. And one of those plans is for us to continue to give, to the church and to KSBJ. The music that KSBJ really has helped transform my attitude and my life. I am thankful for a radio station that has such a positive impact on lives. '
